World of Warcraft - again

Hi everyone. Tried Vanguard during beta but computer was not up to snuff even after investing in new video card so nix that one. Play Guild Wars at times - good game but Bril and I decided to cave in and get WoW. having lots of fun. don't have the community feel as EQ but I really like the game.

on azuremist server and my character is a Draenae named Myldred - other spelling was taken, pooey. Shiner also plays but not sure of his names on this server. Look me up sometime Zoot:)

I don't ever think we'll recapture that old community feel. Dark Omen was my first "real" guild, I was in a couple before that, but it was a bunch of people running in 30 different directions. The whole S/hevil thing and the Uinen saga. I was amazed by the maturity of some of the young players. And the immaturity of some older players. It was a lot of fun. I remember making sure Brildain and Mildred made the move to Terris Thule when we had the server split. They were in Las Vegas for the first(?) fanfaire.

I miss killing the Aviak Avocets in South Karana. We were so dumb. Two druids, a wizard and two enchanters trying to kill that stuff. And stealing Zootnaxe's camp!!!!

It was all new to us. Meeting while we adventured along in our noobie haze.

I'm having alot of fun with it. The ghostlands remind me of old Nek forest and the quests all make sense as opposed to EQ. You actually feel part of the storyline. I made both Zootner and Zootnaxe, but I'm having a ton more fun playing the Horde side with my Blood Elf mage. I made Naxe as close to an inkie as I could. I'm lvl 17 now on the Scarlet Crusade server but I haven't joined a guild yet. If you guys settle in for the long run on a server let me know. I can always make Zootner a Dwarf mage if you insist on playing alliance....ugh lol.

Ok I made Zootner on azuremist. I forget this isn't eq2 so dwarves can't be mages lol so he's a regular ole warrior. You guys want to try a PvP server? Maybe one of the newer ones so we don't get ganked constantly From what I've heard, the kids all play alliance so the Horde may be better but who knows.


Update: I made Zootnaxe a Blood Elf mage on the Maelstrom server. It's a roleplaying PvP server.

Yeah we know too much now. Even with new games I can't get that old community feeling back. Not sure if its the game or me. Hell I remember when my whole world revolved around n00bie log in Nek Forest. I would be up all night, literally, and not even know I had been up that late. Remember running into the ocean in Oasis whenever you heard, "SG or Spectre train to NRo zone!!!1!." How about the Treants in SK, I know Millie's type didnt like that much but us inkies got a sick pleasure in watching those disgruntled maple trees fall. Guess we never will get that n00bie haze back though...

I think we could get a bit of it back if we all really made an effort to stay with the same game and the same server for more than 3 months. I had a ball with you guys in EQ 1 again for the 2 weeks I saw u hahaha and bite me Shev you bailed before I did you tit. You were too busy with your level 70 on the other server. I played every night for 3 weeks straight and you were there for 4 maybe. Then me Bril and Milly played EQ2 together for a good 3 months in the same clan before they disappeared without a word. I lasted about 3 months more then fiqured they weren't coming back.

I like WoW so much that if you promise me that you will stay there I will promise at least 1 full year of play time. I made Zootner on the server that Milly and Bril said they played on and didnt see them at all for a week as I lvled to 16 so I went to a PvP server. It is cut throat there and may be a bit too much for me but if you want to try it I'm willing. If you would all like to try another server and promise to stick it out for more than 3 months then I'm game. Just playing with you guys 2 - 3 nights a week as we level through the game is all I need. Shevs I'm not bullshitting you, the game fucking rocks!! Get the wife, and break away from Sony.

What do you say? And no one join any server before we all agree. We all start at 1 at the same time.


By the way, I just saw the Police for the first time in concert in my life. If I was a chick I would have Stewart Copeland's love children. They were that good.

Enjoyed reading the above posts. I agree the thrill is gone but WOW is fun. Zoot we moved to Shadowsong server. Shiner is there as Rumsmuggler. Ok shoot me - I stole a name. Milly, you are going to go to hell for stealing my name... Just kidding. Actually, it's the sincerest form of flattery. =) Every Server needs a Shevil.

My wife and I have large investment in VG at this point. 44 Rogue and Cleric. And a lvl 14 Necromancer - Shevil. =) We like Vanguard.

The one thing that I dislike about VG is the CONSTANT questing. But the eye candy and the character development is 2nd to none. I'm not big on crafting, but its a good source of cash. I have my own house and boat now. I furnished my house! The wife and I have plots next to eachother.

I'm looking forward to an expansion actually. There is so much that they held back on, the expansion is going to be killer.

We're in the DT guild. It's laid back, but when we hunt, we hunt hard. 50 is the lvl cap at the moment.

I'd love to recapture the DO glory days. We'd have to plan in advance the MMOG we'd want to hop to. It's coming up on 10 years that we've known eachother. That's huge.

The system req's are steep in VG. I had to upgrade the video and the RAM. But we're good now. We have the Best AGP/P4 systems you can get... we're a dying breed I tell you.

Yeah, I just upgraded my p4 to a Core 2 Duo E6750 with a 680i mainboard. Come tax time I plan to dump money on 2 GeForce 8900's (hoping they will be out by then) and then I shall bask in the glory that is VG with all settings on high!

I am still on shadowsong server in WoW. Gracie dosent play anything at the moment, she works late too often and just dosent want to play any games when she gets home.

My motherboard died so I had an excuse to upgrade. I now have a 5200 x2 with 3 gig of ram and an 8600gt graphic card. Still dont know if that is enough for Vanguard

I havent seen any new up and coming games but I really havent been looking either.

35 now. I have Milly and Shiners names on my friends list on there but I have yet to see either one of them. Whats your characters name Bril? And don't tell me you're on alliance or I'll have to kill you over and over again.

Me and Breir (Hael) are in the same guild on Shadowsong. Shiner has been playing as well lately, though he's in a different guild. We're all Horde of course.
